High Stall Torque Converter for 2005-2009 GT

Realspeed Automotive worked with ProTorque to develop custom-built torque converters for 2005-2007 Mustangs. Pro-Torque’s advanced machining process increases engine rpm for better acceleration while maintaining peak efficiency in the converter, without the “mushy” feeling of inferior converters. Users of the new converter can expect a tremendous increase in throttle response and acceleration, and gains of 0.2 to 0.6 seconds in the quarter mile depending on the vehicle configuration and stall speed selected. Torque converters for the V8 Mustang are built with a billet front clutch cover, allowing the converter to withstand full throttle lockups for increased trap speed

The 5R55S transmission in the ’05-‘07 Mustang locks up the converter during regular highway cruising. This allows the use of high stall speed torque converters for performance without sacrificing fuel economy. All torque converters also include a 1-time free stall-speed adjustment to allow racers to dial in their combination to perfection.
