Unlike the factory bar, the Steeda adjustable swaybar attaches directly to the axle with fixed pivot bushings and endlinks that extend forward to the rear subframe. This arrangement is much more effective at controlling body roll than the factory swaybar, which only attaches to the control arms. The stiffness of the swaybar is can be adjusted by changing the preload on the endlink springs. Tighten the endlinks all the way and the swaybar takes full effect immediately with the slightest body roll. Reducing the preload on the endlinks softens the swaybars effect, allowing more body roll. Changing the stiffness of the swaybar alters the balance of front tire grip vs. rear tire grip. If the car understeers (plows straight ahead when you want it to turn), tightening the rear swaybar will make the car turn better. If the car oversteers (back end slides or turns sharper than you want), loosening the rear swaybar will restore balance to the car. This part will grow with your combination as you add more parts or change your driving style. Unlike non-adjustable bars, with the Steeda adjustable rear swaybar there is no need to change to a different size bar just because you added other new parts that change the balance of the car. Simply adjust the swaybar with a quick twist of the wrench to bring the handling back toward neutral. Note: For the greatest effectiveness, the adjustable rear swaybar should be used in addition to the factory rear swaybar, not to replace it.
